ECCOM has made significant investments to offer quality powder printing services in addition to mechanical plastic processing, right here in Estonia, near Tartu.

Local production allows us to provide customers with greater supply security and a more flexible approach regarding quantities and delivery times.

We manufacture using the MJF method (Multi-Jet Fusion), with HP’s most accurate geometry and best repeatability printer model, the HP 5600. The advantage of HP and MJF compared to SLS is precision, better weather resistance, and greater strength of parts. The recently launched PA12S material (Arkema) on the European market also enables the highest level surface quality (without chemical polishing!).

We finish printed parts into final products using Dyemansion equipment. Production is always consistent, colors are certified; the color selection includes both military tones and, as a novelty, black with long-lasting UV protection.

For quality control and also reverse engineering, we have a fully automatic five-axis laser scanner, which for parts up to 200 mm allows an error margin of up to 5 microns and repeatability of 2 microns.

According to our tests, PA12 S Arkema gave an average surface roughness after deburring and coloring of Ra (μm) 5.0 – 5.9.
SLS, SAF and MJF PA12 gave an average surface roughness of Ra (μm) 9.6 – 9.9.

Quality Control and 3D Scanning

For quality control, we use 3D scanners. For large parts, a handheld scanner, and for small parts, a 5-axis fully automatic 3D scanner with accuracy up to 5 microns and repeatability of 2 microns. If needed, we assist with reverse engineering or scanning using the same equipment.

The devices are extremely fast and have excellent support software – making it easy to compare the actual printing or milling result with the input 3D model.

Finishing, Inserts, Mechanical Post-Processing

ECCOM has been engaged in custom manufacturing for 20 years. Our equipment fleet includes over 10 CNC milling machines, 10 different laser devices, as well as threading, bending, and finishing capabilities.

It’s very easy for us to mechanically post-process printed parts or their components as needed – drilling, milling, threading, or adding threaded inserts. Automated finishing is performed using Dyemansion equipment and based on the Dyemansion MJF color chart.
